About
Welcome to the Georgia Cricket Club
At the Georgia Cricket Club (GCC), we believe that moving to a new country for your career shouldn’t mean leaving your passions behind. Many of us grew up with a cricket bat in hand, only to set it aside while building a future here in the United States. Our mission is to bridge that gap and revive the spirit of the gameright here in Atlanta.
We are dedicated to collaborating with the vibrant youth of Georgia to ensure the next generation carries the torch, but our club is truly a home for all ages. Whether you’re a seasoned player or haven’t picked up a ball in a decade, there is a place for you on our pitch.
Our Philosophy: More Than Just a Game
While we appreciate the thrill of competition, the GCC is built on a foundation that transcends the scoreboard.
- Culture Over Competition: Our primary motive isn’t just about winning or losing; it’s about rediscovering the joy of the sport.
- A Family Atmosphere: We are introducing a “friends-first” culture where the camaraderie off the field is just as important as the play on it.
- Community Connection: We provide a space for those who left their favorite pastimes in their home countries to reconnect with their roots and build new memories with the local community.
Join us in Lawrenceville and across the greater Atlanta area as we bring people together, foster lasting friendships, and—most importantly—have fun.

Meet the Founder
Zaid Javed established the Georgia Cricket Club with a single, heartfelt goal: to reclaim the “missing hours” of our lives.
As a business owner and family man living in Georgia, Zaid recognized a common struggle within the community. Between the relentless demands of the corporate world, the daily hustle of life in the U.S., and the weight of responsibilities like bills and household chores, many of us have lost touch with the activities that truly recharge our souls.
The Vision: A Sanctuary on the Pitch
Zaid’s mission was to create a space specifically for youth and corporate professionals—those who may only have a few hours on a Saturday or Sunday to spare. He envisioned the club not just as a sports organization, but as a mental and physical sanctuary.
“In the midst of the everyday struggle, we need a place where there are no jobs, no bills, and no stress. Just the game, the field, and the friends.” — Zaid Javed
Why We Play
Under Zaid’s leadership, the Georgia Cricket Club focuses on three core pillars:
- Mental & Physical Health: Using cricket as a tool to stay fit and decompress from a high-pressure week.
- The “Me Time” Culture: Creating a dedicated window of time where you can focus entirely on yourself and your passion for the sport.
- Renewed Energy: Providing that essential “spark” of joy and courage needed to go back to day-to-day life feeling stronger and more grounded.
Zaid invites you to leave the world behind for a few hours and join a community where the culture is built on friendship, fun, and the shared love of the game. Let’s play for ourselves, for our health, and for the peace of mind that comes with every over.
